Maximize Your Dog's Immune System To Guard Against Dog Cancer By: Wesley Knapp

Cancer is an immune dysfunction disease. It is a breakdown of the body to recognize abnormal cells as invaders. In the last few years particular dog treatment compounds have become available for use in dog cancer victims to try and correct this error. These are called immune modulators. These immune modulator compounds often prompt the patient's "immune recognition response" prompting the body to distinguish and kill the aberrant cells.

When this recognition response is triggered, the body re-learns how to deal with the tumor cells as it would with any other injury, and kills them, producing healthy scar tissue in their place. These immune modulators are different than the class of drugs called Chemotherapy. Chemotherapy drugs are toxic, and work by destroying the cancer cells precisely.

Chemotherapy drugs are very valuable in combating canine lymphoma cancer, in that they decrease the number of cancer cells present, but they do not tackle the underlying cause that allowed the cancer in the first place. Immune modulator compounds on the other hand are not toxic. They are a class of compounds called heteropolysaccharides, which naturally occur in food and are necessary in all mammals for triggering normal immune function. In cancer patients substantial amounts of these immune modulators are essential to elicit that normal rejection response, which in turn kills off the cancer cells.

Canine cancer reacts quite suitably to dog treatment combination therapies using chemotherapy and immune modulators. BirkDale Medicinals Inc. specializes in immuno-modulator compounds for use by cancer survivors. For the majority of dogs the use of the K9 Critical Care and K9 Transfer Factor combination regulates the immune system. K9 Critical Care contains a class of immune-modulator compounds called heteropolysaccharides, including PSK, PSP and Lentinan, which are the three most widely used anticancer compounds in the world today.

This dog treatment formula also includes nearly 200 other closely related polysaccharides which trigger other aspects of immune function. These compounds are sometimes referred to as glyconutrients, and are essential for proper immune function in all mammals. K9 Critical Care was initially developed for Seeing Eye dogs being treated for cancer, and is currently available to clinics, veterinarians and also to the public.

Keep a Record

Keep a log if possible. Or at least a folder of copies of the tests or findings you should request from Vets or Clinics you go to see. You are your pet's best advocate. Keeping a minimal list of notable procedures may very well keep your dog from having to endure side effects pointlessly.

A few months into treatment, you may find yourself trying to remember reactions and dog symptoms. By jotting down the course of treatment, your simple notations could aid your vet to assist your dog.

Veterinarians that you seek advice from during the course of your dog's treatment might ask you for information such as when you started giving your dog a particular medication or supplement, at what dose and how he responded to it and help you to make it easier for the doctor to chart the best course.

K9 Critical Care is a veterinary grade formula specifically intended for use in dog cancer. It is prepared from the same pharmaceutical grade immuno-modulating compounds as our human grade Immune Assist but packaged expressly for dogs. An immunemodulator is something that regulates and helps the immune system. Learn more at www.K9Critialcare.com
