How to do you get past losing a loved one? Everyone has their own way. Some people grieve quietly, others take to their homes and don’t leave for days. Some people find themselves ignoring that their loved one is truly gone, while some openly mourn. Everyone mourns differently, and there is no wrong way to mourn. Remember the way they smelled, or felt, or the way they looked at you. Write down how you felt when you first got your pet, and how you feel now that they’re gone.

You can then choose to rip up and destroy the letter, bury it with your pet, or put it out there for the world. Often, if you put a letter like that out for the world to see, others will chime in and tell you that they have experienced the same thing.
