  • Animal Fitness Center: Natural Way of Managing Horse Joint Pain  By : Darryl Clothier
Horse joint pain is something that has never crossed my mind. I have a horse Semper and never really thought about him getting sick or experiencing pain. So when my gorgeous stallion started showing signs of arthritis, I had no clue what to do. Looking online I found this great website about an Animal Fitness Center by Dr. Ava Frick. I discovered that all animals, including horses, can become ill in the same ways as a human. If I did not take my equine to Dr. Ava Frick so soon he might of had horse paralysis and I would have never forgiven myself.

What Dr. Ava Frick explained to me was that horse joint pain is common to equines that are at least 15 years of age. Just like us, their tendons can wear down and ache in cold weather. I have had Semper since I was 14 and am realizing that he is growing old too and experiencing horse arthritis and stiffness and swelling. I guess my equine friend has already been suffering for quite a while but I just was not able to sense the discomfort and pain that he was feeling. I was still putting him through hours of practice and even rode him everyday around our farm.

Medication and drugs are usually given for equine joint pain. I know that pain medication and drugs can be harmful to my horses organs. I really just wanted to make sure Semper was treated with alternatives to medication. So it was great that Dr. Ava Frick supports alternative therapy to medications for treatment. Another thing I liked about Animal Fitness Center is their holistic approach to easing discomfort and pain of animals. Not only do they specialize in relieving pain through electronic devices but they also concentrate on the proper nutrition needed for a fast recovery. I was truly relieved to see how my horse was cared for during his stay at the Animal Fitness Center.

One thing about the animal chiropractic care that Dr. Ava Frick gave to Semper is that it was custom just for him. This type of treatment is aimed at targeting the core of the problem and not merely the symptoms. Even though medicine can relieve the horse joint pain that Semper felt, they usually don't even treat the actual problem just the symptoms. Aside from massage therapy, my horse was also subjected to PST Vet (Pulsed Signal Therapy), which is a non invasive type of pain management that not only helps alleviate pain but also boosts the functionality of problematic areas. Already Semper is showing improvement after just a few weeks at the Animal Fitness Center.
